4 gym sessions are programmed per week. There’s also an additional mobility/yoga session on a Sunday.

1x Hybrid/HYROX-style (for HYROX athletes)

 

Dependant upon your training goals and objectives, we would recommend completing one of either the Full Body Strength OR the Hybrid/HYROX-style session.

 

Remember, you may be completing running or sport sessions on top of the gym sessions, so be sure to manage your training load.

We highly recommend using the app – Runna. You can seamlessly use A2 and Runna in conjunction for best results. Use the code ‘A2‘ when signing up to Runna to get 2 free weeks alongside your A2 trial.

This is completely down to you, your experience levels, your lifestyle and any upcoming events you may have in the diary.

A beginner may start with 1 run a week, most people will do 2-4 runs a week and experienced runners may run up to 5-6 times a week.

A full-gym setup is required. Ideally a gym with a functional/open space. Barbell and plates, dumbbells, kettlebells and at least one cardio machine.

 

Extra equipment such as a GHD, sandbags, landmine attachments and cable machines would also be beneficial.

 

Alternatives will be given for those unable to use certain pieces of equipment.

You will use the A2 (FITR) app to receive your weekly gym sessions. This comes with programme notes, exercise videos and a weekly walkthrough where we discuss tips for the upcoming week.

 

 

Use this app in conjunction with your running programme/app.

 

 

The fundamental lifts for each 4 week block will remain the same with changing stimulus’ (reps, speed of movement, weight) as we progress. After every 12 weeks, there will be a de-load week to ensure sufficient rest and recovery.

In the 2 weeks leading up to your event, all your fitness will be banked. You will be on your taper period.

 

We’d recommend using the sessions just to tick over but ensure you’re working at lower intensities than usual.

Yes, of course!

 

Although many of our members do have specific goals – you do not need one. You may just want to keep on top of your general fitness and running, which is perfectly fine too!

A2 HYBRID is £50 monthly. You will have the additional cost of your running programme on top of this too (Runna is £15 p/m!)

Yes absolutely! We recommend starting on the A2 FUNCTIONAL programme if you are new to the functional fitness game. There are videos and notes alongside the programme and we can help you discuss scaled exercise options if required.

Not to worry, sometimes life gets in the way!

Just try not to make it a habit. You can also access previous workouts in the app if you want to catch up.

If you let us know what your injury is and how it restricts you, we will be able to assist and suggest alternatives. After all, Tom is a fully-qualified physiotherapist.

We use a smartphone app called FITR to deliver the programme to you.

There are videos attached to each part of the workout to show you exactly how to perform each exercise.

We will also provide options if you don’t have the equipment or struggle with a particular movement.
